The BOLDR Five in a Row is a duo of dive watches based on their value-packed Venture format with a great story attached. Five in a Row is a Scottish-rowing crew that competed in the 2021 Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge (TWAC). They rowed 3,000 miles across the Atlantic from La Gomera to Antigua in 2-hour shifts, 24 hours a day. While an amazing feat unto itself, they also did in the name of a good cause, raising awareness for Reverse Rett, a UK-based charity that supports those afflicted by Rett Syndrome. 15% of the proceeds from the sales of this watch will go to that charity as well.
Measuring a compact 38mm x 44mm x 12.8mm, the Five in a Row keeps the sturdy charm of the field-oriented Venture but turns it into a compelling dive watch. 200m of water resistance and a sapphire crystal ensure toughness, while the full titanium construction and a crown up at 10 keeps it light and comfortable. For the Five in a Row, a 12-hour 60-click bezel with tide indications was added, both important tools for a trans-Atlantic row. The dials are clean and classic dive style with a modern edge. Available in either full lume or dark gray.
Ticking away inside, you’ll find an SII NH35A Automatic Movement that’s made in Japan. 24 jewels keep everything running smoothly at 21,600bph, sweeping the seconds hand around the dial. On a full wind, this automatic movement is good to go for 41 hours between wearings. The NH35A is a reliable and affordable workhorse of a movement that fits in well with the rest of the Venture’s theme.
