G-SHOCK’s MR-G range represents the brand’s top of the line watches that offer beautifully finished full-metal cases paired with the manufacturer’s most advanced and feature-packed internal modules. The MRGB2000 series is the latest addition to this premium lineup, and it features cases and bracelets crafted entirely from hardened titanium, along with a dial that includes design elements inspired by traditional items from Japanese culture.

The beautiful Sallaz polished case of the G-SHOCK MRGB2000 series measures 49.8mm wide by 54.7mm lug-to-lug and 16.9mm thick. Additionally, both the case and solid-link integrated bracelet are crafted entirely from titanium with the brand’s Deep Layer Hardening surface treatment to help prevent scratches. The perimeter of the dial features a subtle angular motif that evokes the appearance of Japanese paper fans, while the hour markers feature a gentle curvature that is inspired by the blade of a samurai sword. The grind-mark finish applied to the curved surfaces of the indexes is so intricate that it can only be produced by Yamagata Casio’s nano-processing technology, while lightweight carbon is used for the centrally-mounted hour and minute hands to offer greater resistance to drops and impacts.

Available with a traditional silver colored finish as the MRGB2000D-1A or with a black DLC coating that includes red and gold accents as the MRGB2000B1A4, the unique shade of red featured on the MRGB2000B1A4 is inspired by “Akazonae” — the color of the crimson armor worn by elite samurai that is associated with strength, gallantry, and valor. Additionally, as the MRGB2000 is part of the brand’s MR-G range, no expense is spared when it comes to materials or features, and protecting the dial is a sapphire crystal with a glare-resistant coating, while a Screw Lock Crown and solid titanium caseback help provide the MRGB2000 series with 200 meters of water resistance.

Powering the G-SHOCK MRGB2000 watches is the top of the line 5625 module, which offers solar charging, Bluetooth connectivity, and it even features a gold-plated retainer plate to reduce electrical resistance. Additionally, despite its fully analog display, the 5625 module includes all of the advanced features you would expect from a premium G-SHOCK watch, such as a world time function, stopwatch, alarm, countdown timer, automatic calendar, and LED backlight. Furthermore, the Bluetooth connectivity offered by the advanced module also enables easy configuration and automatic time synchronization with the G-SHOCK smartphone app.

About G-Shock

G-SHOCK was born from a simple idea — a watch should not break when dropped. Back in 1983, the original square-shaped DW-5000C was created after Kikuo Ibe witnessed a child bouncing a rubber ball. It struck him that a watch floating within a rubber case would be impervious to shocks. After a bunch of testing and design with toughness in mind, the brand was born. Nearly 35 years and hundreds of models later, G-SHOCK is still best known for being some of the toughest, hard-wearing watches that money can buy.
