G-SHOCK’s new GA2100 series packs all the hard-wearing functionality you’d expect from the brand, but in a slim case, that’s unlike anything else they’ve released to date. An ana-digi that has been aptly nicknamed the “Casioak”, the GA2100 features a familiar octagonal shape, but a style all its own.

Measuring in at 45.4mm wide by 48.5mm long, the GA2100 sounds like a rather large watch but on the wrist, it tells a different story. With a thickness of 11.4mm (achieved with G-SHOCK’s new Carbon Guard Core technology), it wears significantly thinner than most other G-SHOCKs. The resin case and band are also lightweight, making for a comfortable full day of wear.

The GA2100 blends analog displays and digital features for a cohesive and easy-to-use experience. The analog features include the traditional lumed handset and a small sub-dial that points to the day of the week at 9 o’clock. Cut into the dial is a small LCD screen that opens up a whole world of features that are sure to come in handy on a daily basis, including a world time mode, stopwatch, countdown timer, and the ability to set several alarms. The screen is also backlit so you also make the best of these functions even when the lights are out.

About G-Shock

G-SHOCK was born from a simple idea — a watch should not break when dropped. Back in 1983, the original square-shaped DW-5000C was created after Kikuo Ibe witnessed a child bouncing a rubber ball. It struck him that a watch floating within a rubber case would be impervious to shocks. After a bunch of testing and design with toughness in mind, the brand was born. Nearly 35 years and hundreds of models later, G-SHOCK is still best known for being some of the toughest, hard-wearing watches that money can buy.
