As the name would suggest, the Flygraf is Yema’s answer for a pilot’s chronograph. Originally created in 1978, it’s a unique design that speaks to aeronautical instruments as well as a touch of a military influence. Aggressive in appearance, the Flygraf features and all black colorway with black bezel and signature, brushed black aluminum dial plate. A truly cool design feature, the plate adds texture, breaks up the dial, and encircles the day/date window, creating the sense of a fourth sub-dial.

More often than not, modern interpretations of vintage watches are clearly different than their source, but the Flygraf looks more like a NOS original than a recreation. Yema preserved just about every detail, from the 39mm case, to the Valjoux 7750 movement, to the “patent pending” on the dial. Of course, there are upgrades as well, such as the domed sapphire crystal.

Powering the Flygraf is a modified ETA/Valjoux 7750 caliber. This Swiss-made automatic chronograph is the industry standard for automatic chronographs, celebrated for its reliability and robustness. The 7750 features 25-jewels, hand-winding, day, date, chronograph, 42-hour power reserve, a frequency of 28,800 bph and hacking seconds (the second hand stops when the crown is pulled out).
