Introduced over seven decades ago, Tissot’s Seastar line continues to mark the brand’s premier line of water-resistant watches. The Le Locle firm’s latest offering — the Seastar 1000 — honors that past while combining modern looks and Swiss manufacturing into a diver’s watch rated to, you guessed it, 1,000 ft (330 meters).

Featuring an unseen-in-class 80 hour power reserve, exceptional finishing, and gradient textured dials, the Tissot Seastar 1000 combines quality and bold design at an affordable price point. Its 40mm 316L stainless steel case is water resistant to 300m thanks to a screw-down crown and caseback. The Seastar 1000’s dial features elegantly applied markers and thick, legible hands, the seconds hand adorned with Tissot’s signature “T” counterweight. It features a unidirectional diver’s bezel with hash marks up to twenty minutes, ensuring its practicality for use above and below the waves. The Seastar 1000’s Super-LumiNova indexes and hands, combined with its polished and brushed finishing and robust stainless steel bracelet, result in a refined package that offsets the watch’s rugged capability.

Visible through the Tissot Seastar 1000’s sapphire exhibition caseback is the Powermatic 80 Swiss-made automatic movement based on the ETA C07.111. Featuring an impressive 80-hour power reserve, the Powermatic 80.111 is a 23-jewel movement with hacking seconds, date, Nivachron balance spring, and a frequency of 21,600 bph.

About Tissot

Originally called Chs Tissot & Fils, the brand we now simply refer to as “Tissot” was founded in 1853 by a Swiss father and son duo. In the 170 years since, Tissot has continued to grow and prosper, ranking among the top 20 Swiss watch brands globally. A champion of attainable luxury, Tissot watches offer Swiss quality and movements at approachable prices, while also being a regular innovator. Notably, they were the first brand with a 24-timezone automatic (the Navigator), the first with a plastic mechanical movement (the Astrolon), and the first with both analog and digital displays (the Two Timer).

In current times, Tissot continues to offer a wide range of styles, from sport to dress to just fun, a wide range of movements, from quartz to digital to mechanical, and even a wide range of materials, including steel, gold, and carbon. With such a diverse catalog, they make watches for everyone and are a great brand to keep coming back to over the years.
