The Louis Erard Excellence Guilloché Main II is a rare display of craftsmanship in an accessible package. A limited edition of 99 pieces, each dial is handmade on a rose engine lathe, a process that takes several hours and a skilled technician to execute. A hallmark of quality, it’s used by haute horology brands to create highly textured dials with elaborate patterns. Already uncommon, Louis Erard utilizes this technique in a unique way, not just cutting into the metal of the dial but through black lacquer, adding to a graphic effect.

Additionally, the design chosen for the dial is non-traditional. Rather than small repeating shapes and curved lines, a single composition is created—a diamond shape set within an array of concentric circles at the dial's center. Fine lines are cut to emphasize the forms and add to the complexity of the guilloché process. A minute index is added along the edge, bringing some classic functionality.

The Louis Erard Excellence Guilloché Main II features a 42mm stainless steel case. It’s fully polished with a large dial opening and rounded sides for an elegant but modern style. Thanks to the fully rounded shape, the watches wear smaller than the diameter would suggest and look thinner as well.

Powering the Louis Erard Excellence Guilloché Main II is the Sellita SW261-1 Swiss-made caliber. An automatic movement, it features 31-jewels, hacking, hand winding, a frequency of 28,000 beats per hour, and a power reserve of at least 38 hours. The movements in use are true no-date and have had the small seconds hand removed.
