The Archimede Pilot 39 Bronze mixes classic WWII Flieger-inspired dials with modern cases machined in Pforzheim, Germany. The Pilot dials stay true to its roots, with bold numerals and markings reinforced by potent lume for great nighttime visibility. The cases are a novel departure from the norm, rendered in beautiful CuSn8 bronze. The warm, gold-toned material oxidizes as it is exposed to the elements, randomly turning brown, green and blue, making each watch unique. The Pilot 39 Bronze is available in “H” format with no branding or date (sterile), and "A" format with branding and date.
At the Windup Watch Shop, the Pilot 39 comes standard with German-made heat-blued hands, a display case-back with custom laser etching and two straps, a riveted leather strap and a US-Made ADPT Strap in black.
Powering the Pilot 39 is the ETA 2824-2 movement, a Swiss-made automatic workhorse movement. This caliber features 25-jewels, 38-hour power reserve, date (if shown) and hacking seconds (the second-hand stops when the crown is pulled out). The 2824 is a tried and true movement, thus making it a reliable favorite.
