The Oris Atelier Jazz line is a series of limited edition watches that celebrate iconic figures from the world of Jazz music. All based on a slender dress watch profile, each timepiece in the series brings elements of a famed musician’s career and style into the design, executed with the utmost restraint. The elements are little more than subtle cues, such as a color or a distinct shape, adding to the character of the watch, never overtly calling attention.
The Art Blakey Limited Edition was inspired by the work of the eponymous and iconic drummer. The domed opaline white dial features a series of black markers and circles, creating a mid-century cool motif. Sitting on top of the dial are eight applied metal components designed after the claws of a bass drum, the only dial-side feature that is directly Jazz inspired. Flipping the watch over, you are presented with a hidden treasure; a golden cymbal inlayed into the back.
Limited to 1,000 pieces worldwide, the Oris Art Blakey Limited Edition is a casual cool timepiece that tastefully pays respect to a true legend.
Keeping tempo in the Art Blakey Limited Edition is the Oris 733 / Sellita SW 200 movement. This is a 26-jewel Swiss-made automatic with 38-hour power reserve, hacking seconds and a frequency of 28,800 bph. It’s a very reliable and robust automatic that will keep great time.

The rich history of Oris dates back to 1904, when Paul Cattin and Georges Christian founded the brand in Hölstein, Switzerland, where it is still based. Over the past century, Oris has reached many great achievements, including being one of the 10 largest watch brands in the world in the 1960’s. Since the 1980’s, Oris has pursued a catalog of unique mechanical watches that has channeled their independent spirit. From their patented Worldtimer to their depth gauge diver to their mechanical altimeter pilot’s watch, Oris has continued to innovate in a way few other brands can match. An achievement that is highlighted by the brand’s commitment to fare, and accessible prices.
