Springs + Gears is a new brand based out of our hometown of Brooklyn, NY. With an incredible eye for detail, Springs + Gears painstakingly redraws famous calibers, and then prints them by hand on a letterpress print. The result is a beautiful tribute to these mechanical icons.
The Valjoux 72 is associated with more iconic watches than most. It was the engine inside Daytonas for 30 years, including the "Paul Newman," many Heuer Carreras and Camaros, as well as Breitling Navitimers, and Universal Genève Nina Rindts, to name but a few. An elaborate, manual wound chronograph with a column-wheel and lateral clutch, it also served as the basis for many variants from flybacks to moon phases. Now, any watch with a 72 is worth more by association. For the vintage aficionado, this movement has special significance.
The Valjoux 72 prints are available in crisp white with black print, or deep blue with white/silver print, both in either 15" x 15", or 8" x 8". Prints are not framed.
