The Vero SW is a true modern, automatic sports watch. Designed with ergonomics in mind, the sleek, svelte case gently curves across the wrist, making it comfortable and safe to wear during adventures above and below water. The 200m water resistance and piston crown ensure great seals in use, while the integrated crown guard and swooping undercut sides help prevent snags.
The ceramic-coated dial then maximizes legibility with large, bold numerals and hands reminiscent of an aviator, while also speaking to vehicle gauges and field watches. Completing the look is a custom designed, integrated silicone strap, available in black or grey. Though designed for performance, the straps clean lines add to the smart, contemporary style of the watch.
The combination of these elements create exceptionally dynamic watches that set them apart from traditional designs. Additionally, each case is individually milled and hand finished guaranteeing the highest level of fit and finish, which is especially noticeable on the brushed sides of the stainless model. As though this all weren’t impressive enough,
Despite being relatively thin for a robust, 200m watch that curves, the SW features a Sellita SW 200 automatic movement. This is a Swiss-made automatic with 38-hour power reserve, hacking seconds and a frequency of 28,800 bph. Each movement is regulated in-house in 6-positions to +/-5 sec/day and is true date-free, so no phantom crown position.
Founded in 2015 by Chris Boudreaux and Danny Recordon in Portland, Oregon, Vero has already set itself apart from the pack through their dedication to in-house production and high quality materials. Their current collections, the 36 and the SW, both feature multi-stage printed dials made of brass, excellent case work and piston crowns manufactured in their Portland facility. The watches are then powered by excellent Sellita Swiss mechanical movements, assembled right in their Portland facility. This American-made ethos, as opposed to taking the simpler route with a manufacturer in Asia or Europe, is a point of pride for Vero, with each Vero timepiece’s packaging proudly displaying the origin and assembly of every component.
