This year, one of the most popular franchises celebrates its 30th anniversary. First released in Japan in 1996, Pokémon has been a fan favorite ever since. In celebration of the 30th anniversary, the franchise has teamed up with G-SHOCK, one of our favorite “retro” themed watch brands, to create something special. Built upon the GA-110 platform, the GA-110PKM-7A features a colorway inspired directly from the series’ 1996 debut—specifically the red, blue, and green associated with the original titles. Referencing Pocket Monsters Red, Green, and Blue rather than leaning on Pikachu yellow or contemporary Pokémon branding, it results in a franchise anniversary piece rather than character-specific merchandise.

Playful details are integrated throughout: the 9 o’clock inset dial draws inspiration from the Poké Ball, complete with an indicator hand shaped like Pikachu viewed from behind. The custom-designed band features 30 Pokémon to commemorate three decades, including three first partner Pokémon from every generation—Kanto through Paldea—as well as Pikachu and Eevee. The mythical Mew appears on the band loop to round out the collection. A special 30th-anniversary engraving occupies the case back, while the packaging includes a Poké Ball-shaped display case and a custom outer box showcasing all 30 creatures. It is a celebratory timepiece that serves as a functional companion for Pokémon Trainers of all ages as they continue their adventures.

An engraved caseback features the Pokémon 30th anniversary logo, while the outer packaging continues the theme: a Poké Ball-shaped display case inside a custom outer box featuring 30 Pokémon. On the spec side, the GA-110PKM-7A carries 200-meter water resistance, shock and magnetic resistance, world time across 29 zones, five daily alarms, a 1/1000th-second stopwatch with speed measurement, and a full auto-calendar running through 2099. The battery is a CR1220 with an approximate two-year life.

This being Pokémon’s first full-size G-SHOCK collaboration, the response from fans of the brand has been intense, with the initial pre-order selling out rapidly. With that in mind, we’ve crafted a two-fold release, hoping to allow as many fans to get their hands on the watch as possible. As this Chronicle goes live, we’re adding the Pokenmon x G-SHOCK GA110PKM-7A into our store, with orders beginning to ship the same day. For our Chicago Windup Watch Fair attendees, we’ve brought 30 pieces, 10 of which will be available on a first-come, first-served basis each day at the Windup Watch Shop Booth. Due to the high demand for this release, both in-person and online orders will be limited to 1 per person.
