Originally introduced in 1982, Citizen’s iconic Professional Diver watch achieved the highest depth rating of any watch in the world, up to an incredible 1300 meters. The initial release of the watch in the 1980s featured many of the same design elements as its modern predecessor, including the lug-less case, smooth lines, and chunky 60-click bezel. Today, we’re proud to announce that a new version of the watch is now available in the Windup Watch Shop, and this one features a fully-lumed dial.
Crafted from Citizen’s proprietary Super Titanium, the case is finished with a unique dark gray DLC finish. Four prominent bezel guards surround the dial, which give the watch its completely unique shape. A large crown resides at 3 o’clock, making it easy to set the time even in damp conditions. The 45.8mm case wears well on a wide range of wrist sizes thanks to the lug-less design. Although it’s not waterproof to 1300 meters like its predecessor, the ISO-rated 200m depth is more than enough for nearly any water-related activity from casual swimming to serious diving. Inside the watch, Citizen’s Eco-Drive movement keeps the watch running for up to 6 months on a single charge. No need for battery changes either, since it harnesses the power of ambient light.
What makes this model so fun is the introduction of a fully-lumed dial. The dial is a pale yellow-green that will glow long into the night when exposed to light. The chunky hands are large and easy to read, also featuring a healthy hit of luminous paint.
The Promaster Eco-Drive Diver 200m ships on a comfortable and water-friendly urethane strap and retails for $595. You can pick one up for yourself now at the Windup Watch Shop. Make sure to sign in to rack up rewards points on this purchase or sign up now if you’re not yet a member.
