The next generation of the Divers 65, now with ceramic bezel and 200m WR
Oris’ Divers 65, a recreation of a watch the brand produced in — you guessed it — 1965, became an instant classic when the brand revived the design in 2015. With the approach of the 60th anniversary of the Divers 65, Oris has launched a new variation of their classic vintage-inspired diver. Blending the style and spirit of the 1960s with Oris’ signature charm, the new Divers Date is an ideal choice for any occasion.
A watch made for every wrist
Apart from the dial colors, the standout is the 38mm fully bronze case. However, Oris didn’t stop there. The bezel and bracelet are also bronze, creating a unique look for the Cotton Candy Divers Sixty-Five. The bronze case will oxidize over time and create its own patina that will be unique to your watch. The bronze will become darker as it is worn and the patina acts as a protective layer for the bronze. If you desire, a simple salt and vinegar solution mixed with water will bring the bronze back to its original appearance and ready to start the oxidation process all over again.
Summer Time Steel!
Coming in three colorways, the Divers Sixty-Five Cotton Candy Steel collection maintains the 38mm case. However, gone is the bronze, replaced with a stainless steel case that is mostly brushed with polished sides. The divers bezel is still done in a relief fashion while the bracelet is completely brushed. You'll also find multiple changes with the dial. The colors here are more saturated while the lume shade is now a stark white vs the aged lume used on the bronze version. All this leads to a watch that is somehow both understated and conspicuous.
It combines a smokey gradient dial with bright turquoise markers
Originally released in 2015, the Divers Sixty-Five was Oris’ first foray into heritage diver territory and a very successful one at that. Pulling from their extensive archives, the Divers Sixty-Five was based on a quirky and distinctly Oris mid-century design that gave the watch a unique look and flavor. A mix of a large dial, massive crystal, thin bezel, and slim mid-case made the watch stand out from the increasingly crowded sea of vintage-inspired divers. The result was an immediate success, quickly becoming one of the brand's most popular designs.
