Junghans has been making watches for over 150 years out of their Schramberg, Germany-based manufacture. While they’ve produced a variety of styles and types of timekeeping devices, they’re most known for their modern and minimal designs inspired by the Bauhaus design movement. Today, we’re happy to add a variety of new and exciting offerings from the brand to the Windup Watch Shop.

Junghans Form A Titan in Black, Anthracite, and Silver
The Form A is a 40mm everyday watch, but these new Titan models feature a satin finished titanium case that’s light on the wrist. Strong, sharp case lines and bold printed indices offer a contrast in design from Junghan’s typical offerings. While they look simple at first, it’s all about the details. The dials are slightly bowl-shaped, curving up at the edges towards the sapphire glass. Instead of printed markers, small cutouts denote each minute, giving the dial a sense of depth. They’re available with either a black dial with Arabic numerals, a mid-tone Anthracite gray with printed rectangular markers, or a Silver dial that’s essentially the opposite.
Meister Automatic in Light Gray and Dark Gray
When creating a mid-century minimalist-inspired watch, it’s all about the little details. It’s easy for a watch to be too simple, and come off boring. That’s not the case with the new Meister Automatics from Junghans. The star of the show is their subtle gradient dial. Starting near the elongated printed indices, the dials fade from their base color (light or dark gray) into an even darker tone. Around the outermost edge, there’s a chapter ring that matches the base color of the dial, which does an excellent job of highlighting the gentle gradient. Housed in a polished 38mm case, the watch features a domed acrylic crystal up front, and a sapphire window showing off the automatic movement around back. Minimalist, yet never boring, the Junghans Meister Automatic with gradient dials will make an excellent addition to your collection.
Max Bill Bauhaus
Junghans isn’t typically known for their use of color, which is why it’s exciting to see a watch in their lineup with a pop of red. Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus, this matte steel cased watch is a nice change of pace from the blacks, whites, creams, and grays typically used by the brand. As with all of their watches, the use of color is restrained, with red accents showing up on the date wheel and inside the slim pencil-shaped hands. You’ll also notice that the dial is protected by a domed sapphire crystal —a material not typically used on their Max Bill line. This unique watch is a great example of minimalist design and use of color without being over the top. If you’ve been looking for some red used in your watch, the Junghans Max Bill Bauhaus is a subtle way to achieve that without being too loud.
Max Bill 12 Inch Wall Clock with Baton Hands
The Max Bill line by Junghans has been around since the 1950’s, going largely unchanged during their 70+ year tenure. If you’ve been looking to add some minimalist design to your space, Junghans’ 12 inch wall clock is up to the task. This version features an even more minimal design than the previous edition that featured numerals, ditching the numbers in favor of delicately printed lines. On the wall, the minimal branding and wide open design allow you to tell the time at a glance, but don’t interfere in your space. The clock itself is built in an aluminum housing and features polished hands. Inside, you’ll find a German-made quartz movement that’s just as reliable as it is accurate.
