Paulin Watches made their appearance in the Windup Watch Shop with an exclusive (and now sold out) green dialed version of their Neo watch. Now, they’re back in full force with six new variants of the Modul – a vintage inspired tonneau-shaped case with some really fun modern design touches. Let’s take a closer look at these 35mm timepieces that have an interesting secret within their modular case design.
The entire Modul lineup shares the same modular two piece case. A brushed steel outer case houses an internal black steel module that holds the movement. Since the watch is available in either quartz or with a La Joux Perret D100 mechanical hand winding movement inside, having two distinct inner cases allows for the line to have multiple options to choose from. The mechanical D100 movement features blued screws, Geneva stripes, and a 50 hour power reserve with small seconds display at 6. If you opt for the quartz, you’ll get a central seconds hand and an ETA quartz movement that’ll run between 4 and 5 years on a single battery.
The Modul features playful colors and blocky hands. One of the coolest things about the brand is their neo-vintage approach to design that blends both vintage and modern touches into an interesting looking watch that’s easy to read. We’re happy to offer three dial colors in the Modul – bright yellow with blue indices, brown with yellow accents, and cotton candy pink with blue accents. No matter which watch you choose, it’s sure to brighten your day every time you glance down at the dial.
Starting at $495 for the quartz version and $1089 for the mechanical, the Modul appeals to a broad audience. Whether you favor the convenience and accuracy of a quartz movement, or the charm of a hand winder, you can’t go wrong. Each watch ships on a stainless steel mesh bracelet and has the option of a solid metal or display caseback.
