Now in the Shop: The Damasko DS 30 Blue
Words by Windup Watch Shop

Today, we’re excited to make a small but still awesome update to the shop by adding the Damasko DS 30 Blue to the collection. The DS 30 Blue joins the ranks alongside the White, Yellow and Green variants, all of which are available now. Additionally, each watch is now available with your choice of brown or black vintage-styled leather strap for $957.

For those unfamiliar with the DS 30 line, here’s a quick refresher on these fantastic, everyday tool watches. The DS 30 is unique in Damasko’s collection as it’s smaller, thinner and a touch more affordable as well. Coming in at 39 x 46 x 9.9mm, the DS 30’s are svelte, nimble watches. They fit amazingly well and are comfortable all day. Yet, despite their small stature, they still pack a lot of tech and some great specs.

First off, they feature 200m water resistance, making them extremely versatile sports watches. Next, their cases are made out of edge-hardened submarine steel, making them highly scratch resistant, corrosion resistant and anti-magnetic up to 4,800 A/m, all great, yet rare features in a sub $1,000 watch. Inside, you’ll find a regulated ETA 2824-2. Last, but not least, they feature Damasko’s impressive proprietary crown construction. This cluster of tech includes a true decoupling crown (disengages the movement), fully hardened tube and crown, viton gaskets, self-lubricating cell, and easy install system making crown replacement super easy, should it get damaged - which is highly unlikely given the preceding tech.

In terms of design, the DS 30s are straightforward and understated in true Damasko style. Their cases have a classic pilot’s shape, matte finished all around. Their dials are clean and symmetrical, featuring large rectangular markers for the hours, thinner markers for the minutes/seconds and central crosshairs to round it all out. Depending on the version chosen, the seconds hand and date numerals are either white, yellow, green or blue.

Made in Germany in Damasko’s Barbing factory, the DS 30’s are a great value, and a great everyday companion watch. For those looking for a no-fuss watch that can take a lickin’ and keep on tickin’ this is the watch for you.
