Now In The Shop: Upgrade Your EDC with Giant Mouse Knives & Tools
Words by Windup Watch Shop

We’re thrilled to announce the addition of a new EDC brand into the Windup Watch Shop, and that brand is Giant Mouse Knives. Born from a post-knife show discussion between friends and knife community mainstays Jens Anso, Jesper Voxnaes and Jim Wirth, Giant Mouse set out to bring premium designs to the masses. By operating under a production style model (having their compelling designs manufactured by some of the best knife factories in the world), they’re able to bring these amazing designs to life with seriously high quality at an affordable price point. We’re starting off in the Windup shop with two distinct knife models. The Farley is a modern take on the classic slipjoint knife style, while the Riv is a thoroughly modern compact titanium framelock EDC folder. We’re also adding their Caplifter pocket tools too. Let’s take a closer look at these fresh EDC offerings from Giant Mouse.

The Farley

Available in three different materials, you can choose your favorite to coordinate with the rest of your everyday carry. A sleek blue G10 with black accents, a tactical green canvas micarta, or a classic brass make up the different handle options. Each knife shares the same base set of specs. It’s a slipjoint style knife, which means that it doesn’t have a true locking mechanism. The blade is kept in place thanks to an internal backspring that secures the blade enough for use, but not locked, making it legal to carry in a wider range of jurisdictions. Crafted from either M390 or Elmax steel, the 2.75” blade is a great size for everyday tasks. There’s a lot to like about the Farley, so make sure to hit the product page to take in all the little details.

The Riv

This titanium framelock folder might just be the perfect EDC knife. It’s small in stature, but makes up for it with excellent ergonomics and premium materials throughout. The titanium scales feature a smooth finish and are available in natural titanium or a sleek blacked out version. Locking in place via a framelock (the locking mechanism is built into the scale of the knife), the blade will stay firmly in place during use. This knife also features a flipping mechanism, where all you have to do is press on the small lever and the ball bearing-mounted blade will flip out quickly and smoothly into place. Both the titanium and PVD versions have a brass backspacer that adds a little pop of color and has a convenient lanyard attachment hole built in.

Caplifter

If you’re looking for an EDC tool without a blade, the Caplifter from Giant Mouse is an excellent option. This keyring-mounted tool features a pry bar/flat head driver, key hanger, and bottle opener for your favorite beverage. You can choose from titanium or bronze, each a compelling option. It’s a simple tool, but packs in some seriously useful features.
