Seiko Makes It Hard To Choose Favorites With Their New Addition of Seiko 5 GMTs
Words by Windup Watch Shop

A few months back, Seiko made a big splash in the watch scene with their sub-$500 GMT watch. With their own GMT movement inside and a design based on the iconic SKX case, they had an instant hit on their hands. We’re happy to offer their two latest dial colors: a dark charcoal grey and a bright and cheerful yellow. Read on to find out more about these two new Seikos that just landed at the Windup Watch Shop.

You’ll immediately recognize the case shape and size, since it’s closely based on Seiko’s iconic SKX. The 42.5mm case is crafted from durable stainless steel with brushed/polished finishing and the signature 4 o’clock crown. Built for travel, this GMT watch features a 24-hour bi-directional bezel that’ll allow you to track an additional time zone when paired with the internal 24-hour scale on the rehaut. Other features like a scratch-resistant Hardlex mineral crystal, push-pull crown with hacking seconds, and brightly glowing Lumibrite indices and hands. The 5 Sports GMTs represent an excellent value, bringing a level of style and class into a price range where finding an automatic GMT watch was next to impossible up until recently. Both watches ship on a five link bracelet with polished inner sections and a fold over locking clasp.

While the watch itself isn’t new, the two dial colors certainly are. First up is a dark metallic charcoal grey with a bright red GMT hand. The rehaut is two-toned, featuring a blue top half and a red bottom half, adding a touch of color to this otherwise monochromatic watch. Taking things in a different direction is the bright yellow dial with matching rehaut and bright red seconds hand. If you’ve been looking for a colorful watch to add to your collection, Seiko really nailed it with this fun shade of yellow. Both watches are currently available in the Windup Watch Shop for $475, bringing a whole lot of watch to the table without breaking the bank.
