TREAT YOURSELF

Hailing from Belfast, Northern Ireland, Nomadic believes that names are symbolic and that their watches should pay tribute to both the environment that influenced their design and the person who chooses to wear them. The Fíor 555, their flagship GMT reference, is a prime example of that ideology. The first half of the name, Fíor, comes from the Irish word “true”, a reminder that no matter how far you travel or where you're at, home will always be home; while “555” pays tribute to 5°55’ West, the measure of longitude where you can find Belfast.
The Fior 555 was designed with travelers in mind and built for the modern jet setter, those who spend their time on the go. Powered by a Sellita SW330-2, the Swiss-made GMT calibre is regulated in-house to +/- 6 seconds per day, with an impressive power reserve of 56 hours. Throughout the watch, Nomadic has incorporated subtle design elements that pay tribute to Belfast’s maritime heritage, such as the yellow GMT hand, inspired by the shipyard cranes that helped build the RMS Titanic. Surrounding the dial, a bi-directional, two-tone ceramic bezel allows you to quickly reference a second time zone, while a healthy dose of lume ensures you can read it day or night. Flipping the watch over, you’ll find a custom rotor that features design elements reminiscent of a traditional compass, a symbolic reminder from the brand to “always find your way home”. Although not marketed as a “dive” watch, the Fior 555 features 200 meters of water resistance, so it can safely keep time whether you're on land or underwater.
VALUE PICK

H.G.P., or Hommes Grenouilles de Paris, was a French dive shop-turned-horological manufacture from the 1970s to the 1990s, known for creating custom dive watches and outfitting the French Navy’s combat swimmers. Following the brand's revival in 2023, H.G.P. has continued to produce vintage-inspired watches, utilizing modern materials and manufacturing techniques, while still featuring the Monnin case architecture. The Diver 200M Chrono-Mecaquartz Big Eye might be H.G.P.’s first chronograph in over 50 years, although it feels right in line with the brand's style. Powered by a Seiko VK64 meccaquartz, it blends the best of both worlds: the feel of a mechanical chronograph while having the increased accuracy of a quartz movement. In addition to the central seconds chronograph, there's a dedicated 60-minute tracker at 9, with a 24-hour subdial at 3.
Housed in the iconic Monnin 664 case, a style you might recognize from early Heuer, Breitling, and Sinn references, the Diver 200M chrono features 200 meters of water resistance thanks to a screw-down crown and caseback, while remaining relatively slim at just 12.4mm thick. Rounding out the package, a unidirectional bezel and a rubber rally strap ensure this watch is ready for those underwater excursions!
NOT ANOTHER WATCH!

While some of us might prefer our nylon and rubber straps, there are times when you need something with a touch of class; something that elevates your watch in an approachable manner, and that’s where the Boundary Layer Studios Strathclyde strap comes into play. Named after the Strathclyde Loch near Glasgow, this premium strap blends wool and cashmere to create a rich, deep blue monochromatic strap that looks as good as it feels, thanks to a nubuck liner that sits against the wrist. Handcrafted in Italy and finished with remborded (rolled) edges, a brushed steel clasp, and quick-release spring bars, this signature series strap combines luxury fabric with watch strap fundamentals, a pairing that fits well on everything from vintage references to modern dress pieces.

Building upon the legacy of the Iona, this new variant combines its classic style with a splash of maritime history. Engineered for longevity, the Iona Sailor boasts a sub-3” blade crafted from S90V steel, delivering superior edge retention and robust corrosion resistance. Its sheep’s foot profile is meticulously optimized for slicing, while the marriage of a sweeping edge and an ergonomic, curved handle facilitates surgical precision—whether you are severing heavy rope, tackling daily mail, or preparing a meal in the great outdoors.
The fiberglass reinforced nylon (FRN) scales feature a deeply scalloped textured surface that provides a steadfast grip during demanding tasks, all while keeping weight down. Tailored for versatility, this folder features dual thumb-studs and a reversible wire pocket clip, accommodating both left and right-handed enthusiasts. Once deployed, the reliable liner lock ensures a snappy, secure lock-up, while a sculpted show scale improves access for closing the knife.
THE WINDUP WILDCARD

Newgate has been making clocks in Britain for over 35 years, and the Metro sits squarely in their strength zone: a retro-modern shape that works equally well in a kitchen, living room, or office without trying too hard to fit any of them. With strong mid-century inspiration, the Newgate Metro wall clock features a bold, color shroud that gently sweeps off the wall with an almost organic feel. At 16.5 inches wide and 9.5” tall, the centered clockface features black numerals, hands, and indices on a white background, ensuring legibility from across the room.
