Top billing belongs to the Treat Yourself category, which spotlights special watches worth their price tag, while the Value-Packed Pick celebrates a timepiece that provides great bang for buck. Upgrade Your Kit highlights indispensable everyday carry gadgets. When You Have Too Many Watches is all about accessories and peripherals for your watch collection. Last but not least, the Deal of the Week is a limited time bargain that you will not want to miss. This week we kick things off with something you’ve never seen before: the Zodiac Super Sea Wolf Pro-Diver made in collaboration with the RedBar watch club. Next, we appreciate the fact that G-Shock has made a genuinely smaller everyday watch in the form of the Digital Basic. The Remix from Gerber is our kit feature this week, while our very own Hexagon Watch Tube covers all your watch storage needs. Last but not least, the Citizen “Fugu” dive watch is our deal of the week. You won’t want to miss any of this.

Treat Yourself: RedBar Super Sea Wolf Pro-Diver

This one’s special. Enthusiasts know the Sea Wolf Diver as one of Zodiac’s most famous watches today and RedBar as a major watch club around the world. With chapters in many major cities, RedBar is a wonderful way to connect with those who have the watch bug as bad as you do. Zodiac’s approach with this Pro-Diver limited edition – that’s 200 pieces, by the way – differs from most collaborations. Instead of obvious branding or major design changes, we have a callback to a reference long considered inside baseball: the Point Series watches from the 1990s. These highly-technical watches were considered state of the art, and their calling card was the red dot between the four and five o’clock hour markers. This Sea Wolf also comes with a special red and black velcro strap that pays more direct homage to RedBar, as well as special markings on the steel caseback to denote the partnership. At the end of the day, we still have a wonderful 42mm x 49.5mm dive watch with 300m of water resistance, COSC-certified movement, and now, an extra touch that horology fans around the world can appreciate.

Value-Packed Pick: G-Shock Digital Basic

It’s rare to see G-Shock make significant sizing updates to their lineups, but that’s exactly what we have here. The G-Shock Digital Basic is an intentional release that appeals not only to those with smaller wrists but also those who want the G-Shock aesthetic in a genuinely downsized package. Regardless of color, the Digital Basic comes standard with a worldtimer, stopwatch, calendar, step-tracking, and even Bluetooth. And with 200m of water resistance, it’s like the F-91W grew up, got a Master’s Degree, and came back better than ever. For a value-packed pick, we couldn’t recommend anything better.

Upgrade Your Kit: Gerber Remix

Gerber is a newcomer to the Windup Watch Shop, and we love their beautiful and functional designs, as well as their rich history. The Remix is one of the Portland, Oregon, brand’s more straightforward products. A liner lock knife with a durable one-hand opening and finger hole, the Remix is a perfect EDC choice – and with Gerber’s limited lifetime warranty, it’ll always be around. Take your pick between a straight (shown above) or serrated blade. You will be well-served either way.

When You Have Too Many Watches: Hexagon Watch Tube

We continue to believe that watch cases are the unsung heroes of watch collecting. Stylish, practical, and often more affordable than you’d expect, quality watch rolls make perfect gifts and are quite literally what to look for “When You Have Too Many Watches”. This Hexagon Watch Tube is our own design and can hold up to three watches, each with their own safety pouch. It is made of high-quality nylon fabric, and its geometric exterior prevents it from rolling off countertops and tables. Unfurled, it doubles as a working station for strap changes – or for simply displaying your watches at a meet-up. Did someone say RedBar?

Deal of the Week: Citizen Promaster Dive “Fugu”

Our deal of the week is a great one: The “Fugu” is named after the Japanese name for the pufferfish, and a quick glance at the unique rounded case and rotating bezel of this Promaster Dive makes it clear why. The grooved edges of the bezel are distinct and are easy to operate underwater. Maybe that’s why it was the choice of the Italian Navy. The modern interpretation of the original Fugu used by world navies is a thoroughly modern beast: 44mm wide, 200m of water resistance, powered by the workhorse Miyota 8204 caliber. This version is particularly attractive with its subtly green dial. At MSRP, it’s a solid buy. At this new lower price, it’s a steal. Channel your inner pufferfish energy and scoop one up today.
