This week’s roundup is an exciting mix of sport-focused watches and gear that can stand the test of time. We start off with the Ollech & Wajs Navichron Chronograph and another chronograph of a completely different kind in the Casio DW6900. A sleek and modern everyday carry knife and single pass strap from ADPT make up our gear and accessories highlight; lastly, we wrap things up with a certified rig in the GWG2000 Mudmaster. Read on!

Treat Yourself: O&W Navichron

Nailing a vintage-inspired watch with modern specifications is a tall order, but Ollech & Wajs have a home run on their hands. With its reverse panda dial layout, legible hands and hour markers, and overall functional design, the Navichron not only boasts good looks but solid specs to boot. An incredible 500 meters of water resistance proves this is not your grandfather’s sport chronograph (though we are sure that is lovely too). It is powered by the venerable Valjoux 7753 automatic caliber and is satisfyingly wearable at 39.5 millimeters by 49.5 millimeters. There’s a reason why mid-century chronograph designs are timeless, and this Navichron is an excellent example.

Value-Packed Pick: DW6900

This G-Shock is the epitome of old school cool. Based on a 1995 release, the DW6900 comes with all the functionality you would expect from a G-Shock – stopwatches, timers, alarms, calendars – while looking stylish thanks to its three small circular “sub-dials” that have become recognizable pre-2000 design cues. This watch is on sale in the Shop, which makes a compelling value proposition an outright bargain.

Upgrade Your Kit: The Carter From The James Brand

The Carter is more than meets the eye, something we’ve come to expect from The James Brand, to be honest. It’s 2.8 inches of VG-10 steel in a drop point shape, and integrated in its handle is a clever reversible and removable pocket clip. Only 3 ounces in weight, the Carter is finished with modern and subtle scales that aid with grip while, frankly, looking cool. The thoughtful design extends to the mechanism of the knife, which is designed to be used ambidextrously, thanks to a thumb disk that activates a slide-lock mechanism. Further, the combination of a straight and serrated edge essentially provides a two-knives-in-one proposition. When it comes to upgrading your kit, The Carter is a top notch choice.

When You Have Too Many Watches: ADPT Single Pass Strap

Who doesn’t love a single-pass strap? Our friends at ADPT have perfected the art with the ADPT Single Pass Nylon Watch Strap. It’s a single nylon strip, keeper, and buckle. Nuff said. The benefit of these kinds of straps is obvious: the watch case sits lower and avoids the typical added height that a double-pass strap entails. This ADPT strap can be had in no fewer than 10 color options and can be configured in 18, 20, or 22 millimeter options. They are of high quality and are made right here in the USA. Pick up a few today!

Deal of the Week: GWG2000 Mudmaster

This Roundup’s Deal of the Week is a monster of a watch: behold, the Mudmaster. Virtually Casio’s top-of-the-line wilderness companion, the G-Shock GWG2000 exists not as a discreet under-the-radar option but a guns-blazing, all-out effort to build a watch that can handle all the elements. In addition to the usual features, the Mudmaster has a built in thermometer, altimeter, and barometer. It’s a carbon-steel beast that you can pick up for a special price thanks to its status as a previous generation (but no less capable) timepiece. Score one while you can.
