The Spinnaker Dumas has become a bit of a sleeper hit since its release about a year ago. An unabashedly chunky ‘70s style diver with clear Omega influence from an albeit semi-obscure reference, the Dumas mixes funky retro charm with some modern details and a great price tag. At $400 with a sapphire crystal, 300m of water resistance, and a Seiko NH35 automatic movement, the Dumas is hard to argue with for those who appreciate its idiosyncratic look. Today we’re excited to announce the addition of three new colorways of the Dumas, bridging the collection up to an impressive seven styles.
Blue with Pepsi Bezel
You can’t go wrong with a dark blue dialed diver, and Spinnaker knows this. The second blue Dumas, this version adds red highlights, a red “Plongeur” minutes hand, and a red arc for the first 15-minutes of the bezel, giving it that coveted “Pepsi” look. The result is Dumas with a bit of more formal or even preppy personality. The tame colorway balances well with the distinctive case. Available here
All Gray and Gray with Orange
From preppy to modern and stealthy, these two new styles have a feature that no others do; bead-blasted matte cases and bracelets. The flat finish completely changes the feel of the Dumas to something more contemporary. Though the design will always have some retro-appeal, the bead-blasting is sleek and almost tactical. Playing off the flatter gray tone of the metal, Spinnaker chose medium gray dials with orange accents for both models. In fact, the only difference between the two is on the bezel.
The “Gray” model features a completely gray bezel with lume lines. The monochromatic style of this version gives it the most subdued attitude of any Dumas, yet doesn’t under play its inherent toughness. Pick this one up here. The “Gray with Orange” model adds in a bright orange arc for the first 15 minutes of the bezel, adding a shock of color to the mix. For those who like subtle matte steel and gray combo, but still want some boldness, this is the right option.
