Watches and Wonders Affordable GMT Alternatives From The Shop
Words by Windup Watch Shop

A week has nearly come and gone at Watches and Wonders. In the span of a few days, dozens of brands have released hundreds of new watches. So much has come out that at times it can feel overwhelming (unless you're following the Worn and Wound team, where they've been on top of all the latest news and releases).

But enough of the shameless plugs. If you're here, you're interested in checking out what affordable GMT alternatives we have in the shop. After drooling over some of the releases from brands like Rolex and Tudor, here are three watches we currently carry that you can get today. And that also won't break the bank.

BERTUCCI A-2TR FIELD PRO GMT

The Bertucci A-2TR Field Pro GMT takes the brands everyday purpose built design language and adds Caller GMT functionality. That functionality means the Swiss quartz movement the brand uses here has a GMT hand that can be set independently for those of us that are not traveling but want to keep track of a different timezone.

Rounding out the package is a very wearable size 40mm matte titanium case, as well as a highly legible black and white dial. At only $285, it's hard to argue with the value proposition here.

BOLDR ODYSSEY FREEDIVER GMT

With the Boldr Supply Co Odyssey Freediver GMT, we get quite an offering from a very experienced microbrand company.

First there is the recently released Miyota 9075 movement inside. It offer True GMT functionality. Meaning you have an hour hand that can be independently set to your new local time as you travel abroad. Then there is the scalloped, dual toned, 24 hour bezel, which when paired with 24 hour scale on the dial, allows you to track 3 timezones at once. All this on a beautifully faceted 44mm stainless steel case with bracelet and rubber strap.

With a ton of wrist presence and functionality, the $899 price still brings value to the table.

ZODIAC SUPER WEA WOLD GMT

Our third option is the Zodiac Super Sea Wolf GMT.

A modern revival of the 1960's Aerospace GMT, the latest version is a great nod to the past. It features a 40mm case with a dive ready 200 meters of water resistance. On a riveted, 3-link bracelet.

Making our way to the dial, you'll find it to be highly legible with a black and white motif, and a bright red GMT Hand. Behind that, you'll find the Soprod C-125 movement which has Caller GMT functionality and provides 42 hours of power reserve.

Overall, the Super Sea Wolf GMT watch offers a great blast from the past, with a quality construction, and from a popular and trusted brand.
