This early 1960s Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date ref. 1501 is the definition of classy. The 34mm stainless steel case has been polished in the past but has sharp lines and nicely textured brushing. The screw-down crown is in great condition, but the bezel steals the show. A gorgeous engine turned designed with wide bands emphasizing hours and thin flutes, building an elegant texture.

The sunburst silver dial creates an all-metal, rugged, refined aesthetic. Angular applied markers and dauphine hands give this reference extra mid-century style, while a magnified date provides added legibility.

This ref 1501 is fitted to a newer 78350/557 steel bracelet with a signed blade clasp from around 1989. Altogether, this is a gorgeous everyday watch.
