Oris’ Divers 65, a recreation of a watch the brand produced in — you guessed it — 1965, became an instant classic when the brand revived the design in 2015. With the approach of the 60th anniversary of the Divers 65, Oris has launched a new variation of their classic vintage-inspired diver. Blending the style and spirit of the 1960s with Oris’ signature charm, the new Divers Date is an ideal choice for any occasion.

The 39mm stainless steel case of the Divers Date is water resistant to 200m, an upgrade over the original Divers 65 reissue from 2015. The Divers series has long since moved on from the original’s distinct numerals, the dial now featuring elegantly applied markers across three dial variants: black, blue, and beige, all inspired by 1960s industrial design and paired with a black unidirectional dive bezel. The slim case is matched to a three-link faux-riveted stainless steel bracelet — a period choice adding serious style — and also comes with a tropic-style rubber strap. The bracelet features quick-release spring bars to make swapping styles a summer breeze.

Visible through the new Divers Date’s sapphire caseback is the signature red rotor of the Oris 733, an automatic Swiss-made caliber based on the venerable Sellita SW200-1. It features a date complication, 26 jewels, hacking, hand winding, a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour, and an upgraded power reserve of at least 41 hours.

About Oris

The rich history of Oris dates back to 1904, when Paul Cattin and Georges Christian founded the brand in Hölstein, Switzerland, where it is still based. Over the past century, Oris has reached many great achievements, including being one of the 10 largest watch brands in the world in the 1960’s. Since the 1980’s, Oris has pursued a catalog of unique mechanical watches that has channeled their independent spirit. From their patented Worldtimer to their depth gauge diver to their mechanical altimeter pilot’s watch, Oris has continued to innovate in a way few other brands can match. An achievement that is highlighted by the brand’s commitment to fare, and accessible prices.
