The Famous Fortis Space Watch Returns

Fortis is perhaps best known for making dependable and high-quality space watches. As partners of NASA’s Gemini program in the 1960s, Fortis created the Spacematic. But the watch that really put Fortis on the map was the B-42 Cosmonaut, and the new Novonaut is the modern iteration of what Fortis considers its greatest hit. The new Fortis Novonaut can be configured in a variety of ways by choosing a black or blue dial, along with a stainless steel bracelet or Fortis’ “Hybrid Stap”. The Max Bill line by Junghans are truly iconic timepieces that have remained largely unchanged since their debut in the 1960’s. The Max Bill Regulator Bauhaus takes that iconic core design and flips it on its head, introducing a regulator to the line. With their latest release, Zodiac has gone back to their archive and revived the prototype that became the iconic Sea Wolf, a watch for adventure in or out of the water. Based on the original prototype, the new Super Sea Wolf 691 features a 36mm case, now water resistant to 200m, an improvement over the originals, and also features a screw-down crown. The Ref. 691’s high-gloss black dial is complemented by applied markers with indices at odd numbers and numerals on the even numbers, recreating the original dial layout. A three-link stainless steel bracelet with vintage-inspired rivets finishes the look. Seiko set the watch world ablaze when it launched its SSK line of affordable GMT watches in their classic SKX case architecture in 2022. Following this smashing success, they’ve added the complication to a whole suite of watches and are back with the fan-favorite complication in a beloved reference - the venerable Seiko 5 Sports Field.
