Paulin Neo Watches Now Available at the Windup Watch Shop
Words by Windup Watch Shop

Founded in 2013 by three sisters named Elizabeth, Charlotte and Eleanor, Paulin is a small independent brand based in Glasgow, Scotland that places an emphasis on family, creativity, and the support of local artists. Paulin is the last name of the three sisters, and while the company was originally created specifically to produce watches with forward-thinking designs, it has slowly expanded over the years into a multifaceted design house and an integrated part of Glasgow’s creative community. In addition to producing everything from leather goods and watch straps to a best-selling wall clock and even an umbrella, Paulin works closely with local artists and its Stockbridge location in Edinburgh offers a curation space that provides creatives with an accessible platform to showcase their talent.

While Paulin has produced a number of different watch models over the years, arguably the most famous piece that the company has put forward has been the Paulin Neo, which was produced in collaboration with fellow Glasgow-based independent brand anOrdain. More than just a collaboration watch between two neighboring Scottish companies, the founders of these two brands are actually married to each other!

To welcome Paulin to the Windup Watch Shop, we’re kicking things off with the complete Neo series, including a special version with a striking green dial that is a Windup Watch Shop Exclusive. All of the Paulin Neo models feature 38mm stainless steel cases with drilled lugs that are fitted with box-shaped Hesalite crystals, signed crowns, and display casebacks. Additionally, all of the variations are powered by the Seiko NH35A movement, which offers proven and reliable performance, along with easy and hassle-free service. With that in mind, the true party piece of the Paulin Neo is its anodized aluminum dial, which features a subtle horizontal graining texture and is handmade in the UK. Although they all follow an identical overall layout, each dial offers a distinctly unique take on the brand’s fun and versatile Postmodernist design.

Paulin Neo Windup Watch Shop Exclusive

Exclusively created for the Windup Watch Shop and not available anywhere else, this special version of the Paulin Neo features a vibrant green dial with a color palette inspired by classic race cars. Sitting against its subtle horizontal grained surface are white accents for the minute track and dial signature, while the collection's bespoke numeral font appears in a rich golden yellow color. Just like the rest of its siblings, the anodized aluminum dial fitted to the Paulin Neo Windup Watch Shop Exclusive Edition is made entirely within the UK, and each one is individually hand-dyed in order to achieve its rich and striking color. To keep the focus on the stunning green dial, the Windup Watch Shop Exclusive Edition of the Paulin Neo is fitted with a classic black leather strap complete with a signed stainless steel pin buckle.

Paulin Neo A

Without a doubt, the Paulin Neo A is the most traditional and conservative among the series. It offers a rather monochromatic overall appearance that still retains the Neo collection’s signature horizontal graining texture, blocky hands, and bespoke font for the numerals. Set against a silvered colored dial surface are high-contrast jet black markings with a bright white seconds hand and a date window at 3 o’clock. Paired with the Paulin Neo A and deviating from its largely silver and black color profile is a classic brown leather strap that is fitted with a signed stainless steel pin buckle.

Paulin Neo B

Compared to the understated silver dial fitted to the Neo A, the vibrant orange dial found inside the Paulin Neo B offers a decidedly more colorful take on the brand’s fan-favorite design. While it still features the same gentle horizontal graining texture that can be found throughout the rest of the range, its numerals and hour markers are printed in black, while its minute track and dial signature appear in a deep blue hue for an additional touch of color and added contrast. Completing the Paulin Neo B and matching its hour markers is a two-piece black leather strap with a stainless steel pin buckle that features the Paulin logo.

Paulin Neo C

Among the three models that make up the standard-production Neo range, the Paulin Neo C is easily the most colorful. Set against a light blue dial with the collection’s horizontal graining pattern are bubblegum pink numerals and golden-orange accents for its minute track and dial signature. Additionally, while the rest of the range includes black hour and minute hands with seconds hands that are finished white, the seconds hand on the Neo C appears in a bright red hue, further increasing the amount of color present on the face of the watch. Unlike the rest of the series that features traditional black or brown leather leather straps, the strap fitted to the Pauline Neo C is made from gray suede and completed with the same signed pin buckle as its two leather siblings.

All of the different Paulin Neo watches are accompanied by an official retail price of $530 USD, and you can now order your favorite ones right here at the Windup Watch Shop.
