01 Treat Yourself

Accutron Spaceview Evolution Electrostatic

Accutron Spaceview Evolution Electrostatic

The Spaceview Evolution pushes Accutron’s electrostatic line in a new direction with a forged carbon dial, giving each piece a swirling, one-of-a-kind color pattern rather than a uniform finish. The dial’s outer surface is now closed off, so the carbon pattern reads as a solid visual statement, while the cutouts left in the center still reveal the watch’s signature spinning turbines, silver-tone bridges, and blue screws beneath. It comes in two colorways: a red forged carbon dial on a brown suede strap, and a blue forged carbon dial on a matching navy strap.

The case measures 43.5mm across and 15.91mm thick, machined from stainless steel and topped with a sapphire crystal. LumiNova-treated hands and hour markers keep the dial legible in low light despite its unique carbon pattern, and water resistance sits at 50m/5 Bar — suited for incidental exposure and still-water swimming rather than diving. Each version closes with a folding clasp on a matching suede strap, brown for the red dial and navy for the blue.

Inside is the NS30, Accutron’s proprietary electrostatic movement and the first of its kind in the industry. Twin turbines spin at high speed off ordinary wrist motion, generating a static charge between two electrodes that’s stored in an accumulator. That stored energy runs two separate motors: an electrostatic motor driving the sweeping second hand, and a step motor for the hour and minute hands. To conserve power, the second hand parks itself at 12 after five minutes of inactivity — a firm swing for a few seconds wakes it back up and lets the second hand glide back to the correct position. Accuracy is rated at -/+5 seconds per month.

02 Value Pick

Islander Saltaire 38mm Solar

Islander Saltaire 38mm Solar

The Saltaire is Islander’s take on a solar dive watch, and it solves the usual trade-off that comes with solar movements. It runs on the Miyota 2070 ring-solar caliber, which tucks its light-collecting cell into the rehaut instead of hiding it behind the dial — freeing up the dial itself to be a fully opaque, textured metal surface rather than the semi-transparent look most solar watches are stuck with. It’s built as an easy daily-wear diver, and comes in four dial colorways: white, blue, orange, and grey.

The case measures 38mm across, 12.5mm thick, and 46mm lug-to-lug, machined from stainless steel and topped with a sapphire crystal for scratch resistance. The caseback is a solid, embossed design rather than an exhibition window, keeping the movement sealed and protected. It’s fitted to a matching 20mm stainless steel bracelet with a deployant clasp that ratchets on the fly for quick sizing adjustments, and the whole package is rated to 200 meters of water resistance.

The Miyota 2070 inside is a solar-charged quartz movement with no date function, keeping the dial layout clean and focused on time-only legibility. Because the solar cell sits in the rehaut rather than behind the dial, it can draw a charge without needing a light-transmissive dial, which is part of what lets Islander offer the watch in fully opaque colors like this white and orange. At 155 grams, it wears solidly without feeling heavy, and is perfect for everyday wear.

03 Not Another Watch!

Nanu Arc Alarm Clock

Nanu Arc Alarm Clock

Nanu is a small San Francisco-based team focusing on well-being through product design. The young brand seeks to offer an alternative to what they see as a disposable, digital lifestyle by offering timeless design, tactile experiences, and environmental responsibility in a package that only gets better with use.

The brand’s Arc Alarm Clock exemplifies this. Built from a cast zinc housing with ABS panels, an aluminum alloy chime bar, mineral glass, a silent movement, and an OLED alarm display, the Arc’s premium, repairable construction and analog design seamlessly replace your smartphone when it comes to setting the day’s tone. Furthermore, the mechanical chime, set to a crisp tone, perfectly adds classic clockmaking to such a modern product.

Available in pearl white and classic black finishes, the Arc is the perfect addition to any nightstand. The Arc is powered via a USB-C cable with a 16-hour backup battery.

04 Upgrade Your EDC

Vosteed's Large Nightshade

Vosteed's Large Nightshade

The Vosteed x CountyComm Exclusive Ultem Kit – Large Nightshade brings together modern materials, aggressive design, and collector-grade exclusivity. Based on the fan-favorite Nightshade model, this exclusive collaboration swaps in a lightweight and incredibly durable Ultem® handle — making it a standout piece for both users and collectors.

Designed with Vosteed’s signature blade geometry, the Nightshade features a bold leaf-shaped blade with plenty of belly, making it equally effective for slicing, food prep, utility tasks, or tactical use, especially when taking into account the use of Nitro V upgraded steel. Add in a ceramic ball-bearing pivot, deep carry pocket clip, and sleek Ultem scale overlays, and you have a blade that’s as smooth in the hand as it is in deployment.

This collaboration is limited to just 500 pieces and comes with a Back-2-Basics Maratac Flashlight.

05 The Windup Wildcard

Islander Brookville Automatic Dress Watch

Islander Brookville Automatic Dress Watch

The Islander Brookville Automatic Dress Watch is a masterclass in understated elegance, centered around a stunning silver linen-texture dial. This intricate cross-hatch pattern captures and diffuses light with a vintage charm reminiscent of mid-century luxury timepieces. The dial is balanced by polished dauphine hands and applied baton indices, creating a high-contrast look that remains clean and legible. To ensure this beauty lasts, the watch is equipped with a flat sapphire crystal featuring an inner anti-reflective coating, providing a crystal-clear view of the texture while resisting the scratches of daily wear.

Designed for a tailored and comfortable presence, the Brookville features a 38mm case diameter and a height of 11mm. The lug-to-lug distance of 44.5mm ensures that the watch sits securely and proportionally on a wide variety of wrist sizes, avoiding the “overhang” common in modern oversized dress watches. It is paired with a premium 20mm brown leather strap that utilizes a signed tang buckle and quick-release spring bars, making it easy to swap for a different look in seconds. Despite its dressy intentions, the watch offers a robust 100 meters of water resistance and a screw-down crown, providing peace of mind during unexpected rain or hand-washing.

Providing the mechanical heartbeat of this timepiece is the Miyota 9015 automatic movement. This Japanese caliber beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour (8 ticks per second), resulting in a smooth sweep of the seconds hand. The movement is a mechanical workhorse that supports both hand-winding and hacking (the seconds hand stops when the crown is pulled) for precise time setting. Visible through the exhibition case back, the Miyota 9015 offers a 42-hour power reserve and a slim architecture that allows the watch to maintain its sleek, cuff-friendly 11mm profile.
