While Zodiac Watches are known for the iconic Super Sea Wolf dive watches, their archives are filled with cool and unique, though lesser-known models. Two great examples are their “manta ray” cased Olympos dress watches, and space-age Astrographics. Today, however, we’re focusing on a line of watches with bravado to spare - the very ‘70s, motorsport-inspired Grandrally chronographs.
Though an entry point to Zodiac’s current catalog, thanks to their quartz movements, the Grandrallys are built to the same exacting standards as Zodiac’s models that are over twice as costly. That means you’ll find exceptional machining and elegant finishing across the range. In fact the bracelets not only feature a proprietary and extremely clever tool-less sizing feature, they have some of the most beautifully over-machined clasps we’ve come across.
The 41.5 x 48mm barrel-cases exude ‘70s style and wear exceptionally well. They are bold, rugged, and aggressive in the ways that a racing-chrono should be, while also sitting properly on the wrist. The dials then feature bi-register layouts for that classic look, and mix printed indexes with applied, faceted markers for a surprisingly upscale feel. Capped off with a domed sapphire crystal, these are watches that look as good or better than their vintage counterparts.
Today, we’re bringing in four more versions of these great timepieces, bringing our collection up to six, and, for the next month (ending June 22nd, 2020) we’re offering them all at 30% off, making these truly a great value. Check them all out here - or continue below for a look at each new color.
Zodiac Grandrally Blue Panda
While you could call all the of Grandrallys Panda-dialed, there are only two models with light faces and dark eyes, giving them the true-Panda-style. This version features bright blue sub-dials on a silver surface with matching tachymeter with orange highlights. Paired with a padded brown leather strap, this is a watch that is going to get some attention. Available here
Zodiac Grandrally Gun Metal
Next we have perhaps the most serious and upscale variety, featuring a sunburst gun metal dial that is punctuated with white sub-dials and red highlights. This version really takes the fit and finish of the Grandrally to another level. Available here
Zodiac Grandrally Green
If the last model was too subdued for you, this is the one to check out. Featuring a sunburst metallic green dial with red accents, it won’t go unnoticed. This version comes on a rugged brown leather strap with a matte finish as to not clash with the bold dial color. Available here
Zodiac Grandrally Blue
Sitting between the Gun Metal and Green models in terms of boldness, this version features a dark blue sunburst dial with white sub-dials and red accents. A classic combo, the blue adds some personality while not overtaking the design. This model also comes on that amazing bracelet, giving it a more refined look on the wrist. Available here
