Now in its 35th year, Citizen’s Promaster line of tool watches are purpose-built for Land, Sea, and Air with a strong focus on functionality, durability, and safety. To celebrate this, Citizen has created a new collection for their Land series. Enter the new Promaster Land, a rugged sports watch built to explore.

The new Promaster Land features a large 43.9mm stainless steel case water resistant to an impressive 200m. The large dial is broken up by subdials at 4:00 and 8:00, displaying the light level indicator and selected complication on the MIP display. The inner compass bezel is rotated with the crown at 8:00, allowing for navigation. It is available in three different versions: a green dial in a gray PVD-coated case paired with a Cordura nylon strap; a black dial with a gray PVD-coated bezel on a black Biomass-based polyurethane strap. And finally, the 35th Anniversary Limited Edition which has a black and grey camouflage dial and bezel on a sporty stainless steel bracelet and camouflage matched strap. This version is limited to 5,900 unnumbered pieces.

The 35th Anniversary Promaster Land features Citizen’s new U822 movement, upgrading the old LCD for a high-tech Memory-in-Pixel (MIP) display offering high resolution and improved clarity. No need to worry about power draw either, the watch utilizes Citzen’s iconic Eco-Drive. Leveraging light into energy, the watch forgoes the need for battery changes while maintaining a large feature set. The watch features a power reserve indicator, world time, chronograph, alarm, light level indicator, and perpetual calendar complications and is rated to ± 15 seconds per month.

About Citizen

With a history that dates back to the founding of the Shokosha Watch Research Institute in 1918, Citizen Watch Co. was formally established in 1930 with the goal of creating high-quality yet accessible timepieces for the Japanese market. Headquartered in Nishitokyo, Tokyo, Japan, Citizen is one of the world's largest and most vertically-integrated watch manufacturers. In addition to producing timepieces under its own name, Citizen also serves as the parent company for a number of other brands including Bulova, Alpina, Arnold & Son, Frederique Constant, Campanola, and Miyota. Citizen’s list of horological accomplishments is both long and impressive, including everything from creating Japan’s first fully-waterproof wristwatch to currently holding the title for the world’s most accurate movement, which is capable of astonishing precision within just one second per year.
