The Aquis line is Oris’ collection of unabashedly modern dive watches. For 2024, Oris has decided to redesign their diver, with the aim of creating a watch that has more wearable dimensions as well as refinements to the dial and bracelet. Here, we have the 41.5mm size which lands in the middle of the sizes which have received these new updates.

The Aquis Date 41.5 is a pure expression of everything one needs in a diver. A 41.5mm case that wears much smaller than one would expect thanks to the unique case shape and integrated strap. The case is now thinner with lugs that have a sharper downturn, thus hugging the wrist better. The bracelet and rubber strap now feature an increased taper. All these changes while maintaining it's 300m of water resistance that still make it a dependable diver.

For the dials, Oris has introduced Aquis specific font while also creating a more uniform color throughout the dial, unlike the fume effect seen on the previous versions. The date wheels have also been updated to better match the colors of the dial. This also extends to the recycled PET plastic of the Upcycle.

Powering the Oris Aquis Date 41.5mm is the Oris 733-1 movement. It is a Sellita SW 200-1 based movement that beats at 28,800 bph and has a 41 hour power reserve. A workhorse movement that is tried and true.

About Oris

The rich history of Oris dates back to 1904, when Paul Cattin and Georges Christian founded the brand in Hölstein, Switzerland, where it is still based. Over the past century, Oris has reached many great achievements, including being one of the 10 largest watch brands in the world in the 1960’s. Since the 1980’s, Oris has pursued a catalog of unique mechanical watches that has channeled their independent spirit. From their patented Worldtimer to their depth gauge diver to their mechanical altimeter pilot’s watch, Oris has continued to innovate in a way few other brands can match. An achievement that is highlighted by the brand’s commitment to fare, and accessible prices.
