Whether it's a watch with a fun pop of color, or something super functional for that impromptu jump in a pool, picking out a new summer-ready watch is the perfect excuse to go shopping. Today, we’re going over five of our favorite watches that will make an ideal wrist companion for all of your summer trips, dips, and more. Read on to learn more about a classically-styled diver, a go anywhere, do anything hybrid, the most colorful watch in the shop, and more.
Oris Diver’s Sixty-Five “Glow”
A classically-styled dive watch is at the top of the list for good reason. Oris’s Diver’s Sixty-Five “Glow” is a 40mm diver with 100m of water resistance, a rotating bezel, and a reliable SW 200-1 movement inside. The gradient gray dial is highlighted with some seriously bright turquoise lume plots denoting each hour. Oris dropped the date window for an ultra-clean look that’s great for keeping things simple on a lazy summer afternoon.
ADPT Series 1
Born from the idea that a watch should be All Purpose, Day, and Terrain, the ADPT Series 1 brings serious value and functionality to your wrist. Designed with fun and function in mind, the watch features a rotating 12-hour bezel for tracking hours or another time zone, 200m of water resistance, a fun sector-inspired dial, and a wrist-friendly 38mm case. You can choose from a few different color ways that coordinate with our own ADPT straps. We’re really digging the Harvest as of late – it features olive green, khaki, and orange accents throughout.
G-Shock G-Lide 2023
Whether you’re a surfer, swimmer, or fisherman, knowing what’s going on with the tide is a really handy feature during beach season. New for 2023, this refreshed lineup of G-LIDE watches from G-SHOCK are rendered in a trio of fun colors for the summer. Of course, these watches are tough too, featuring all of the class-leading durability that G-SHOCK watches are known for. On the display, you’ll notice a customizable tide graph display alongside the moon phase indicator. G-SHOCK also went the extra mile and produced these watches in an eco-friendly bio-based resin. At a time when more and more plastic waste is finding its way into the ocean, even a little bit of cutting down the use of traditional plastics can go a long way.
Zodiac Super Sea Wolf Skeleton 6-15
Zodiac’s Super Sea Wolf Skeleton 6-15 is just plain fun. Featuring a gradient rainbow “Super Chroma K1” bezel, this thing pops more than the loudest Hawaiian shirts out there. This skeletonized dial shows off Zodiac’s use of the new 6-15v movement from STP through both the front and back of the case. Bright lume plots are rendered in yellow lume, while a silver and yellow hand set point to the time. The watch measures in at 40mm wide, features 200m of water resistance, a rotating unidirectional bezel, and a domed sapphire crystal. If you’re a rainbow Daytona fan, but can’t quite swing it, this fun example from Zodiac is a great way to bring some color into your collection while still remaining relatively affordable.
Autodromo Group C
Summer is the time where you can comfortably roll your windows down and turn your music up. No one can pull off an automotive-inspired watch quite like New York’s Autodromo. Their designs are tastefully inspired by niche motorsports, resulting in some seriously cool watches. The Group C pulls inspiration from the 1980’s class of sports car racing of the same name, which heavily featured angular lines, the integration of digital elements, and bright pops of color. This is the first digital design from Autodromo, and it features a plated stainless steel 36mm case paired with a sapphire lens, an eco-drive digital movement with timing functionality, and 30 meter of water resistance.
