G-SHOCK teamed up with artist Joshua Vides, known for his "Reality to Idea" concept, to turn two of the brand's most iconic digital silhouettes — the square DW-5600 and triple-graph DW-6900 — into watches that look like they were lifted straight off a comic book page. Bold, hand-drawn black-and-white outlines wrap around the case, dial, bezel, and band, creating the illusion that the watch itself is a sketch rather than a solid object. It's the kind of piece that gets noticed in a hallway between classes, and every kid who sees it is going to ask where it's from. Underneath the artwork, it's still a real G-SHOCK: shock-resistant construction, 200-meter water resistance, a five-year battery, and a Super Illuminator backlight with a custom "cone" motif that lights up when activated. Each piece also gets a custom case back engraving and comes in special collector's packaging. At $180, it's a genuinely artsy, conversation-starting watch that can also survive gym class.

This is the fourth annual Timex x Worn & Wound collaboration, and it's an easy pick for a first mechanical watch. At $199, it undercuts most mechanical watches by a wide margin, and the compact 37mm stainless steel case with a domed acrylic crystal wears comfortably on a smaller wrist. Inside is a hand-wound Sea-Gull TY6 movement — a great, tactile introduction to actually winding and setting a watch rather than just glancing at a phone. The dial reimagines the classic field watch layout into a layered, sector-style design with railroad-track dividers and italicized numerals, printed in thick C3 lume for genuine low-light visibility. It comes in two colorways: Whirlpool, with indigo and denim tones set off by sky-blue and yellow accents, and Storm, in cooler grays and blues with a pop of red on the seconds hand. Both ship on a 20mm nylon mil-strap, and since that's a standard lug width, it's simple to build out a small strap rotation to match any outfit or mood. Water resistant to 50 meters, this one's built to actually get worn every day, not just admired in a drawer.

The Centre of the Earth Alarm Clock breaks from the standard square or rectangular alarm clock with a spherical, British-designed case that stands 4.3 inches tall and 4.5 inches wide, available in black, white, or yellow acrylic. The LCD display is set back into the sphere, which cuts down on glare and keeps it legible from across the room. It runs a 12- or 24-hour time display along with a digital alarm, snooze function, and even a temperature readout, and it's powered by either the included USB cable or three AAA batteries. It's a genuinely futuristic-looking little object for a desk or nightstand, and at $49, it's a low-cost way to build the habit of waking up to an alarm instead of a phone.

For anyone (or any parent) who already loves a good dive watch, this one's an easy sell. The Mai Modern Rotating Bezel Alarm Clock is styled like a Seiko diver, right down to the luminous paint on the markers and hands, and the newest generation adds a functional rotating bezel so you can time tasks — like, say, a homework session — with a simple twist. It's small enough to sit on a desk next to a monitor or on a nightstand, and it still handles the basics well, with a loud alarm, snooze, and backlight to actually get someone out of bed. It comes in a handful of metallic colorways, including blue, black, silver, and orange, so it's easy to match to whatever watch (or desk setup) it's keeping company with. ULTEM DRAFTTITAN MECHANICAL PENCIL

The DraftTitan is CNC-machined from solid Ultem (PEI), a high-performance polymer known for its durability and heat resistance, giving it a translucent amber finish that looks nothing like a normal school pencil. It houses a standard 2mm lead system with a fully serviceable click-advance mechanism, and the Grade 5 titanium tailcap unscrews to reveal a built-in eraser compartment. At just 5.8 inches long and 0.42 ounces, it disappears into a pencil case, but it's the kind of clean, no-branding, purist EDC piece that's going to get noticed the second it's set down on a desk.
