TREAT YOURSELF

In 1965, Oris successfully lobbied to reverse a Swiss regulation that restricted watchmakers from using lever escapements — a limitation that had effectively frozen the industry's mechanical development for decades. With that law gone, Oris introduced its first lever escapement watch the following year and called it the Star. Sixty years later, the Oris Star Edition reissues that same barrel-shaped case in 35mm stainless steel with a plexi domed crystal, grey dial, and retro detailing that is faithful to the original.
Inside the 35mm case sits the Oris Calibre 733-1, an automatic movement beating at 4Hz, with a 41-hour power reserve, date complication, and hacking seconds for precise time setting. Compact and well-proportioned, the Oris Star pays tribute to the original release with modern manufacturing techniques. The barrel-shaped case sits closer to the wrist than a traditional round case, while having a unique visual appeal. A domed, plexiglass crystal adds height and the vintage, 1960s aesthetic that a watch like this should have. Underneath, a vertically brushed dial contrasts against the polished indices, adding visual flair and improving legibility. At the 3 o’clock position, a trapezoidal date window adds character and cleanly displays the date. Just like the original release, the Oris Star ships on a 17mm black leather strap, completing that vintage look and feel.
VALUE PICK

The Arcange AS Series is a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic sector dial, blending mid-20th-century elegance with modern technical precision. Designed and assembled in France, the collection features a highly refined 37.2mm case that achieves a remarkably slim 9.5mm profile—a technical milestone achieved through optimized case architecture. Each timepiece is defined by a three-part case construction featuring alternating polished, brushed, and sandblasted finishes, capped with a scratch-resistant double-domed sapphire crystal.
Paying tribute to the sector dials of the 1940s, the AS01 “Polar Grey” features a two-tone, grey and white colorway on the dial, with rich, deep blue accents. Almost monochromatic, the subtle dial colors allow for the distinct finishings to stand out, providing contrast between each area of the dial. At the center, heat-blued hour and minute hands boldly stand out against the circular brushed hour track and guilloche minute track. This combination ensures legibility without feeling ostentatious.
At the heart of the series is the Miyota 9039 automatic movement, a high-beat Japanese caliber regulated during assembly to a tight ±10-second tolerance. This 24-jewel movement provides a 42-hour power reserve and features hacking seconds for precise time setting. Despite its slimness, the series is engineered for durability with a reinforced gasket system providing 100 meters of water resistance, and each watch is backed by a 3-year manufacturer's warranty.
NOT ANOTHER WATCH!

As watch enthusiasts, part of packing for travel often entails choosing which watches will accompany you on said trip, and how you’ll get them there and back safely, and that’s where the Arsenale Esagono comes into play. The hexagonal shape of the roll helps to disperse any impacts while also preventing it from rolling off a table or out of your bag. As you open the roll, the interior microfiber lining provides soft protection against scratches, while two internal dividers create the three separate sections. Within each section, a removable pillow securely holds watches up to 45mm in diameter in place, but can be removed to easily swap the watches inside. When fully opened, the hexagonal shape functions as a clean display, while the “lid” can be utilized as a safe work space for changing straps or adjusting bracelets. The Arsenale Esagono watch roll is available in three distinct colorways: Ink Black, Sage Green, and Denim Blue.
