Oris has a history of supporting baseball and charitable causes. That continues with a new watch to honor Hank Aaron, the legendary baseball Hall of Famer, and The Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation, a US-based non-profit entity that provides scholarships to underprivileged youth.. Introducing The Hank Aaron Limited Edition.

The watch is based on Oris' Big Crown Pointer Date, a quintessential piece from the brand. With its 40mm diameter to its 49mm lug to lug steel case, the watch presents the perfect canvas upon which Oris could paint this tribute with design elements inspired by the baseball legend. Specifically a blue, red, and white color palette reminiscent of Hank Aaron's uniform, which can be found incorporated subtly in the design, from the red-outlined blue minutes, to blue-outlined red numerals. Even the straps receive this treatment as not only do you receive a blue leather strap with white stitching but also an interchangeable nylon fabric strap in blue, red, and white. (Baseball not included)

Powering this tribute is the Oris Calibre 754. It’s based on the Sellita SW 200 movement, a  26-jewel Swiss-made automatic with 38-hour power reserve, pointer date, hacking seconds and a frequency of 28,800 bph. Normally visible through a display case back, we are instead treated to an engraving of Hank Aaron after taking a swing. Directly below that, you’ll find the limited edition number out of 2297 (Hank Aaron’s Runs Batted In Record)

About Oris

The rich history of Oris dates back to 1904, when Paul Cattin and Georges Christian founded the brand in Hölstein, Switzerland, where it is still based. Over the past century, Oris has reached many great achievements, including being one of the 10 largest watch brands in the world in the 1960’s. Since the 1980’s, Oris has pursued a catalog of unique mechanical watches that has channeled their independent spirit. From their patented Worldtimer to their depth gauge diver to their mechanical altimeter pilot’s watch, Oris has continued to innovate in a way few other brands can match. An achievement that is highlighted by the brand’s commitment to fare, and accessible prices.
