Designed in Canada and manufactured in Switzerland, Marathon watches are designed to meet some of the toughest MIL-SPEC standards out there. The GSAR (Government Search and Rescue) diver’s watch is made for divers and search and rescue teams who regularly face the toughest of elements. The standard that defined the specs of the GSAR watch was born out of military necessity, but it’s just as useful as a civilian as it is for an active duty member. The watch is a chunky, yet wearable diver with a reliable Sellita SW200 Swiss automatic movement, housed in a durable 316L stainless steel case with a no-nonsense military vibe that values function over form. It’s built to ISO 6425 diver’s standards, which require 300m of water resistance, and a myriad of other high-stress requirements.

Measuring in at 41mm wide by 14mm thick, the 316L case is stout, with a solid wrist presence. On the side of the case, you’ll find a knurled screw-down metal crown with beefy guards that helps keep the case watertight to a full 300m. Up top, is a unidirectional rotating dive bezel with a wide-toothed edge. Choose from the included sturdy bracelet or the complimentary rubber strap to secure the watch to your wrist. The dial is right in line with what you’d expect from a military dive watch — clean and legible with a 12- and 24-hour scale. Bold contrasting color hands really pop out from the surface of the dial. It also features constantly glowing Tritium gas tubes for unparalleled low-light visibility.

Inside the GSAR, you’ll find Sellita’s SW200 - a reliable Swiss-made Automatic movement with date complication that can be wound both manually via the crown, or automatically via the internal rotor. It’s good for 38 hours of power between windings and features a beat rate of 28,800bph for a smooth seconds sweep. 26 jewels inside the movement keep everything running smoothly.
