A fellow named Moore, Roger Moore took over one of the world’s largest film franchises in the early 1970s. On his wrist? Not the usual coronet; instead, he wore a Tissot. Founded in Le Locle in 1853, the Swiss brand knows something about heritage.
Fresh off the success of their hit PRX series, Tissot has reached into their extensive back catalog and pulled out the PR516. Based on the PR-516 reference worn by Roger Moore in 1973’s Live and Let Die, it is a vintage-inspired racing watch with a slightly up-sized 38mm case and 100m of water resistance. It is available here in three versions – two black dials, each with a contrasting seconds hand in red or yellow, and a rich blue dial with subtle finishing. The black dial duo is split between a jubilee-style bracelet variant and a perforated brown leather version, with the blue featuring a perforated blue leather strap. The fixed bezels are color matched to their dial.
Powering the PR 516 is the Powermatic 80, a Swiss-made movement based on the ETA C07.111. In addition to its impressive 80-hour power reserve, it features 23 jewels, hacking, hand winding date, a Nivachron balance spring, and a frequency of 21,600 beats per hour.

Originally called Chs Tissot & Fils, the brand we now simply refer to as “Tissot” was founded in 1853 by a Swiss father and son duo. In the 170 years since, Tissot has continued to grow and prosper, ranking among the top 20 Swiss watch brands globally. A champion of attainable luxury, Tissot watches offer Swiss quality and movements at approachable prices, while also being a regular innovator. Notably, they were the first brand with a 24-timezone automatic (the Navigator), the first with a plastic mechanical movement (the Astrolon), and the first with both analog and digital displays (the Two Timer).
In current times, Tissot continues to offer a wide range of styles, from sport to dress to just fun, a wide range of movements, from quartz to digital to mechanical, and even a wide range of materials, including steel, gold, and carbon. With such a diverse catalog, they make watches for everyone and are a great brand to keep coming back to over the years.
