The Fortis Vagabond V-40 Ships in 4-6 Weeks

With a rich history going back to 1912, Fortis is best known today for its rugged line of tool watches designed to deal with the harshest airborne and aquatic environments. The new Vagabond collection is a GMT watch built for the cosmopolitan, but it maintains a backward glance with an emphasis on the time at home.

The new V-40 features a grade 5 titanium tonneau case with 200m of water resistance, a popular lightweight alloy prized for its tough nature. Stronger than pure commercial titanium, it’s commonly used in aerospace applications. The V-40’s dial, with alternating markers and numerals, is broken up by a white gold GMT ring designed to symbolize the preciousness of home. Available in two subtle shades of grey and a luxurious blue, the V-40 is an understated travel companion designed to conjure memories of home. Each variant is paired with a matching titanium block bracelet.

Powering the new Vagabond collection is the chronometer grade Werk 13, an automatic movement made by Tudor’s movement arm Kenissi. This Swiss-made caliber is COSC certified with 28 jewels, hacking, hand winding, “flyer” GMT (hour moves in hour increments), date, a frequency of 28,000 beats per hour, and a power reserve of at least 70 hours.

About Fortis

Founded by Walter Vogt in 1912, Fortis has been a trailblazer in the watch industry ever since. From the first ever mass-produced automatic wristwatch - the Harwood - presented in 1926 to some of the world’s first “waterproof” watches with the Fortissimo of 1940, this brand has helped to shape the landscape of the modern watch industry. Though not amongst the list of firsts for Fortis, it’s also one of only a handful of brands that can truly be said to be “space worthy” as the official watch of Russian Cosmonauts. Much like its founder, the brand’s current design ethos is as innovative and bold as ever. For sea, land, air and space Fortis has you covered.
