Experts at blending almost a century of expertise with innovative new ideas and technology, Lacher & Co. (Laco) is widely considered one the grandfathers of the German pilot watch genre. They have been crafting Flieger-style timepieces in Pforzheim since 1925 and have truly mastered the art. For our first entry, we chose their Ulm and Würzburg watches, each representing a different dial configuration of the same watch. The Ulm has a standard Type A dial with a small seconds complication at 6 o’clock, while the Würzburg features a Type B dial with the same sub-seconds complication. Please refer to this link for more information on the differences between the dial types. Both watches have 39mm cases, beautiful, almost imperceptible blued steel hands, and Sellita SW261 manually wound movements. All the charm of the past, minus the burden of owning a vintage watch.
