Slipjoint style knives are one of the most classic options out there, and for good reason. They don’t feature a locking mechanism, but stay open thanks to some simple engineering. An internal part known as a back spring keeps the blade in place, but doesn’t truly lock it, making the slipjoint a less intimidating and widely legal style of blade to carry. Giant Mouse Knives draws inspiration from the classic knives your grandfather carried, but with the added style of sleek nordic design. There’s a lot to like about the Farley, a simple and modern take on the classic slip joint design.

There are three models in this collection. The first features grippy blue G10 scales and a PVD coated blade in black to match the rest of the hardware. M390 “super steel” makes up the blade, resulting in a steel that has excellent shape and edge retention that can go a long way in between sharpening. The second model features handsome brass scales that will pick up a patina the more you use it. The blade here is finished with a satin treatment that gives the knife a vintage look. For the blade steel,Giant Mouse chose Elmax – a steel known for its high corrosion and wear resistance. Elmax is considered one of the best premium steels out there in modern knife construction.

Finally we have a model that features green canvas micarta scales which are crafted from blending layers of canvas with a special resin to make a uniquely textured grip.. The blade is finished with a stonewash treatment that gives the knife a sleek and modern look. Once again, for the blade steel, Giant Mouse chose Elmax.

Completing the look on each knife is a bent wire clip that keeps the Farley secured inside your pocket, while the scales feel great in hand. Opening the knife is especially smooth, thanks to the low friction washers that hold the blade perfectly centered and in place.
