Designed in Canada and manufactured in Switzerland, Marathon watches are designed to meet some of the toughest MIL-SPEC standards out there. The GPQ (General Purpose Quartz) watch is made for infantry units to withstand anything they may encounter in the field. The standard that defined the specs of the General Purpose Quartz watch was born out of military necessity, but it’s just as useful as a civilian. The GPQ is an all-purpose watch with a reliable Swiss Quartz movement, housed in a lightweight and high-impact composite case and some tough military vibes that’ll be right at home in your collection.

Measuring 34mm wide by 11mm thick, the composite case is light on the wrist. It stays strapped on thanks to the thin 16mm nylon strap that coordinates with the case color. The dial is what you’d expect from a field watch — clean and legible with a 12- and 24-hour scales. Bold white hands really pop out from the matte black dial. To take legibility to the next level, the hour and minute hands / hour markers on the dial are adorned with tritium gas tubes that constantly glow in the dark without needing exposure to light like standard lume would. The dial is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal for extra durability.

Inside the GPM, you’ll find ETA FØ6 - high torque quartz movement with three jewels. This reliable and tough movement will tick for 5+ years before needing a battery swap, making it an excellent grab-and-go watch for your collection. It features a standard hour/minute/second handset with a date option. On the date model, you’ll also find the Marathon name adorning the dial.
