Lorier is a young, NYC-based watch brand that has seen a lot of success since launch. Specializing in midcentury-inspired sports watches, they've quickly become known for their attention to detail, finishing quality and approachable price point. The most recent addition to their collection, the Gemini, is a 39mm hand-wound "bicompax" chronograph. Featuring a massive domed acrylic crystal, bi-directional 12-hour bezel, and their signature flat-link bracelet, it has unparalleled style and charm that make it stand out from other vintage-inspired chronographs.

For the Worn & Wound collaboration, the Gemini was modified to a single-register layout, bringing to mind some of the rarest vintage references. On the dial, you'll find the 30-minute counter at three has been highlighted with a contrasting background, and actually sits on a layer below the top surface. This accentuates the sub-dial, creating an exciting asymmetry to the design. To further bring the eye into the dial, the bezel insert is made out of brushed steel with color-filled engraved markers.

To give the collaboration an exotic attitude, the dial surface is rendered in gloss Cerulean blue, while the sub-dial and chapter ring are white. This bright hue is somewhere between Mediterranean and Shelby blue, giving the Gemini a bold, but tasteful presence.

Inside of the Gemini is the Sea-Gull ST1901 manual-wound chronograph movement. The Chinese manufactured movement is exceptionally unique, being based on the Venus 175, a Swiss caliber from the mid-twentieth century. Staying true to the original, it's a column-wheel chronograph, which is unheard of in affordable modern chronographs. The ST1901 features 19-jewels and a frequency of 21,600 bph.
