The Lorier x Worn & Wound Hydra II Limited Edition is a watch stripped down to celebrate the desire to go beyond the limits of human capability. To move too fast, go too high, do what our fragile bodies were never capable of. It is inspired by machines that never go to market, but rather test ideas and break records. It appears as a prototype on the wrist. A unit created in a lab to test fit and function. Pre-color, pre-aesthetics, it’s raw, with just enough information to do what is needed. Sleek, strong, and purposeful, a machine of immense complexity belied by its small scale.

Fully brushed from the 39mm x 47mm x 10.5mm dual-crown case, to the dial and internal bezel, to the flat-link bracelet, the Hydra II Limited Edition appears as an instrument made from a single piece of material just finished enough to be safe to wear. Gray markers and lume allow for visibility, while a red marker on the 12-hour bezel allows for setting one’s limits. On the case-back, the Worn & Wound 10th Anniversary makes its last appearance, closing out a very special year.

Powering the Hydra II Limited Edition is the Miyota 9015. A machine that deserves celebration, this thin, Japanese-made automatic caliber is a reliable timekeeper featuring 24-jewels, date, hand-winding, 42-hour power reserve, and a frequency of 28,800 bph. The life force within the machine, that it tracks the time with nothing but springs and gears is incredible.
