Fortis’s Marinemaster isn’t just a dive watch, though it may be taken as such at first glance. Whether you’re hiking, swimming, fishing, or (yes) diving, the Marinemaster is meant to be your companion given any adventure’s on the horizon. The Marinemaster series features a 120-click Gear Bezel™, Superluminova on hands and dial, and a triple gasket protected screw-down crown. It’s a design inspired by nature and intended for it, utilizing recycled steel in its construction. This latest model by Fortis is rugged, green and purpose built to be your next tool watch.

The M-44 model of the Marinemaster is 44mm at the diameter and 48mm from lug-to-lug. It strikes a similar silhouette to the M-40, but in a scaled up package. Along with that added bulk comes a few perks. The case is rated 500m water resistant and the bezel is secured via a unique locking mechanism that can be loosened with the crown at ten o’clock. Here you gain access to the bi-directional, 120-click bezel. Furthermore, details from the dial are carried over to the rubber horizon strap. Optionally, you can equip your Marinemaster with a stainless steel block bracelet.

Inside the M-44 is a Kenissi WERK 11, a chronometer certified automatic movement. This Swiss made caliber features a bi-directional rotor system with a traversing bridge affixed at both ends to improve shock and vibration resistance of the balance. Tested to be both accurate and robust, this movement is also “weekend-proof” with a 70-hour power reserve. It features hacking, hand-winding, and a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour.

About Fortis

Founded by Walter Vogt in 1912, Fortis has been a trailblazer in the watch industry ever since. From the first ever mass-produced automatic wristwatch - the Harwood - presented in 1926 to some of the world’s first “waterproof” watches with the Fortissimo of 1940, this brand has helped to shape the landscape of the modern watch industry. Though not amongst the list of firsts for Fortis, it’s also one of only a handful of brands that can truly be said to be “space worthy” as the official watch of Russian Cosmonauts. Much like it’s founder, the brand’s current design ethos is as innovative and bold as ever. For sea, land, air and space Fortis has you covered.
