Vero’s new Open Water series of dive watches are designed to be your go-to watch for adventure, whether you’re in or out of the water. The Open Water represents a re-launch of sorts for Portland-based Vero Watches, better aligning the brand with their owner’s passions — swimming, hiking, and appreciation of the outdoors. The dive watch form factor with its chunky rotating bezel makes an excellent base for a watch to wear during activity. You’ll appreciate the modern/minimal design that makes for a sharp legible watch that’s comfortable on the wrist.

The matte-finished steel case measures in at 40mm wide by 47mm lug-to-lug, with a thickness of 11mm. These dimensions place the watch firmly in mid-sized territory — enough watch to make a subtle statement, while remaining small enough to be comfortable for a full day of activity. Water-resistant to 200m, this minimally-designed diver is ready for nearly anything on the surface or under the water. A flat sapphire crystal up top protects the dial, while a single-layer of anti-reflective coating inside keeps it legible in high glare situations. On the right side of the case, you can adjust the time via the black knurled crown that’s protected from bumps and knocks by two curved crown guards.

Driving the Open Water is Sellita’s SW200-1 Swiss-made automatic movement. The movement is a reliable workhorse movement that has 26 jewels, a 38-hour power reserve, and beats away at 28,800 bph. Vero regulates each movement in their workshop to ensure reliability and accuracy. The movement also features “hacking” seconds, and can be manually wound.

About Vero Watch Company

For a small team like Vero, it’s important that their watches are a representation of their personalities and interests. Owner Chris Boudreaux created a brand with a focus on watches that fit in with his active lifestyle. Vero’s newest watch, the Open Water is a dive watch featuring a sleek, modern, and minimalist design that’s backed with the features to make it ideal for a wide range of activities, whether you’re on the water or in the mountains. Slim, yet bold case shapes are paired with subtle use of color, resulting in an easy to wear watch. Vero’s watches are designed in Portland, Oregon, but are precision-machined in Switzerland. The components are then sent to the US for assembly, regulation, and quality control in Vero’s workshop.
