Citizen’s New 37mm Promaster Divers Are The Perfect Summer Watch
Words by Windup Watch Shop

It’s a great time to be a dive watch fan, especially if you prefer something that wears a bit more svelte on the wrist. We gravitate towards dive watches because of their form and functionality – they look just plain cool and have a ton of features that can handle nearly anything you can throw at them. Today, we’re happy to have a new series of Promaster dive watches from Citizen in the shop, all measuring in at a very wearable 37mm.

Big on Features, Small in Size

These new offerings from Citizen are still just as capable as their larger siblings. They feature 200 meters of water resistance, a unidirectional rotating bezel, luminous hands and markers, and a convenient and reliable Eco-Drive 168 movement inside. Citizen’s Eco-Drive charges with exposure to ambient light, never requiring a battery change. The stainless steel case features an aggressively textured crown at 4 o’clock that pairs well with the deep grooves running around the timing bezel. On the dial, you’ll also find a handy date display. Each watch ships on a comfortable and highly flexible polyurethane strap that’s ready to make a splash.

Several Colorful Options

You can choose from a handsome dark blue, a stark black, or a fun and colorful gold/pink option. The blue dialed version features a deep blue dial with bright blue accents around the indices. An orange minute hand really pops off the dial, adding a bit of contrasting color. The black version is about as serious and straightforward as a dive watch can get. While black and steel might not be the most exciting colorway out there, it’s quite exciting to have a fully featured dive watch in the classic colors at the 37mm size. If you’ve been looking for something a little different, the gold-cased silver dial with pink strap really stands out from the pack.

At $375, these new 37mm divers represent an excellent value from a trusted brand who’s been at this a while. It’s refreshing to see more brands experiment with the size of their watches without cutting down on features. The more options, the merrier.
