Now in the Windup Watch Shop: Victorinox
Words by Ed Jelley

Dig through the bottomless “junk” drawer in your house, and there’s a pretty solid chance that you’ll find a Swiss Army Knife. Red plastic scales wearing the cross shield logo are packed with little scissors, small blades, toothpicks, tweezers, and more. Victorinox, the brand behind these iconic little red multi tools, also makes watches and they do a heck of a job. Their entire watch lineup is made in Switzerland to exacting standards with premium materials and movements. We’re happy to be carrying Victorinox in the Windup Watch Shop, and we’re starting off with a wide selection of handsome, durable watches that are sure to be a crucial part of your collection.

Alliance Mechanical

This handsome 40mm watch leans dressy, but boasts a solid set of specs that make it ideal for everyday wear. The high polish case houses an automatic mechanical movement and a beautiful dial. On the dial, you’ll find a textured surface that’s broken up by a ridged circle between the center and outer indices. A sharp set of hands points to the time, while a handy date display is perched at 6 o’clock. You’ll appreciate the sapphire crystal and 100m of water resistance, especially in a watch that looks this good. It’s available with a deep black or snowy white dial on a variety of straps starting at $595.

INOX Mechanical

The rough, tough, and ready INOX lineup from Victorinox recently added a version with an Sellita SW200-1 Swiss-made mechanical movement inside. These undeniably solid timepieces feature an angular bezel surrounding the guilloche dial, rendered in a mid tone blue. Featuring a stainless steel case with an angular fixed bezel, a mix of polishing and brushing add some visually interesting finishing to the case. These 43mm watches are water resistant down to 200m, feature a sapphire crystal, and lume on the hour markers and hands. We’re happy to carry the INOX Mechanical mounted on a stainless steel bracelet, or a unique wood/leather hybrid strap that stands out from the pack. These models are available starting at $825.

INOX V (37mm)

All the toughness of it’s bigger sibling, but smaller on the wrist. Measuring in at 37mm, INOX V is a scaled down version of the standard INOX. The case angles are the same, just well-suited for those with smaller wrists, or those who simply prefer a smaller watch. The main difference is the dial. Here, a cheerful white dial features bold cardinal numbers for 3, 6, and 9 with the Victorniox shield logo prominently displayed at 12. A red seconds hand picks up on the other red dial accents in a tasteful manner. The INOX V comes on a super durable rubber strap that’s ideal for all-day comfort.

INOX Professional Diver Titanium

This ISO 6425 certified dive watch is ready for anything in and around the water. Crafted from a lightweight titanium alloy, the 45mm case is large, but remains light on the wrist. Angular details, a chunky unidirectional bezel, and a generously sized lume pip at 12 make for an interesting case. The black dial features applied indices laid out in a traditional dive-style manner, while the striped black and yellow seconds hand adds an aggressive touch. The Professional Diver in Titanium comes on a paracord strap that you can unweave in a survival situation and use as rope should you have to.

Field Force GMT

The Field Force GMT is a modern field watch with a convenient GMT hand for tracking another time zone. Blending both modern and classic design elements, the Field Force GMT makes for an excellent everyday watch. Bold numerals surround the dial, while a set of laddered sword hands tell the local time. On the inner 24-hour track of the dial, a small GMT hand with a circular accent at the end denotes the second time zone. The slim-wearing case, solid specs, and sturdy bracelet all add up to a watch that’s easy to wear, no matter where in the world you find yourself.
