Skin diver watches are generally considered to be more rugged and durable than traditional dress watches, as they are designed to withstand the stresses of underwater use. They are also popular among watch enthusiasts and collectors due to their unique design and functionality. Today, Benrus brings back a classic of theirs, the Orbit Robot. Like most skin divers, the Orbit Robot is water resistant to 200 meters and features a unidirectional bezel.
Benrus has been pretty faithful in their re-issue of this timepiece with making subtle but modern upgrades. One of our favorite features of the original and the current reissue is the grey fumé dial, which was paid particular attention to in order to fully replicate the depth and radiance of the original grey watch model. The date window has been maintained, but the day window removed to allow the dial to be fully appreciated. Of course the UFO case remains here and the case back features a custom Benrus robot orbiting the Earth, a fun update made to honor the name of the watch.
Featured on a sturdy bracelet, the watch also features 20mm lug widths, making it a favorite for trying on different watch straps (we love it on a Nylon strap!). The watch retails for $995 and will come in a waterproof clamshell case that is perfect for the water lovers out there! Find this watch and more only at the Windup Watch Shop!
