The Islander Republic Traveler GMT is a versatile timepiece that combines the functionality of a pilot's GMT with the build quality of a recreational dive watch. It features a blue dial with large applied Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6, and 9, alongside aviator-style hands and a dedicated GMT hand with a red "airplane" tip. The watch uses a bi-directional sapphire bezel and a 24-hour chapter ring, allowing the wearer to track up to three time zones simultaneously. A color-matched date window is positioned between 4:00 and 5:00 to maintain dial symmetry.

The watch is housed in a 40mm stainless steel case with a thickness of 13.1mm and a compact 46.5mm lug-to-lug distance. It is equipped with a 20mm brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet that tapers to 18mm at the clasp. The bracelet features solid endlinks and links secured with screws, and it includes a tool-less micro-adjust clasp for on-the-go sizing. The total weight of the watch on the bracelet is 175 grams.

Powering the Republic is the Miyota 9075 automatic movement, a "true" traveler GMT caliber that allows for independent adjustment of the local hour hand. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, the movement provides a smooth seconds sweep and approximately 40 hours of power reserve. The dial is protected by a flat sapphire crystal with an internal anti-reflective coating, while a screw-down crown and embossed caseback ensure a 200-meter water resistance rating.
