For Pilot watch enthusiasts, Laco watches really needs no introduction. Founded in 1925, they were one of the original manufacturers of German Flieger watches. Still based in Pforzheim, Germany, Laco is known for their exacting quality, exceptional finishing, and attention to design detail.
Taking its popular modernized Augsburg and Aachen Type A and Type B Fliegers, Laco has added a radiant new white dial with bright metallic blue markers and luminous numerals. Inspired by arctic conditions, the Polar 39 is built for adventure in uncompromising environments. Both special edition Augsburg and Aachen are paired with riveted and stitched brown leather straps. The Polar 39 is limited to just 250 of each model.
Underneath the Augsburg and Aachen Polar’s sapphire display casebacks is the Laco 2S, a Miyota 82S0-derived automatic movement. This Japanese caliber is well regarded for its reliability and rugged construction. The 821A features 21 jewels, hacking, hand winding, a power reserve of at least 42 hours, and a frequency of 21,600 beats per hour.
Limited to 250 pieces each, the Augsburg and Aachen will begin shipping in late March 2025.

In the 1940's, only a handful of companies were selected to manufacture pilots watches for the German Airforce. Laco was one of these companies, and today they bring that heritage to their watches. You'll notice that their "original" series all feature "FL23883" engraved into the case, on the side opposite from the crown. This number indicates the watch was made to military specification for pilots.
